Marley Shelton Bio
Marley Shelton was born on April 12 of 1974 in Los Angeles, California. She moved to and grew up in nearby Eagle Rock, California at the age of only three. She has three sisters- Koren, Erin, and Samantha Shelton, all of who were born after her. Marley was a varsity cheerleader and was voted Prom Queen at Eagle Rock High School in 1992. Her high school prom date was her ex-boyfriend, Buffy star, Nicholas Brendon. He bought her 100 roses, wore a tux and drove a black convertible Mustang. Marley said that he "totally did it right".
Her mother, Carol, was a teacher and former singer and her father, Chris, worked as a director and producer. In her early teens, Marley was never interested in life on the stage and screen, like her parents. But as she became an adult, she realized she had talent and could become popular by going into movies and theater.

'"I did grow up here in Los Angeles and my father is a commercial director, my mother taught musical theater workshop so I was surrounded by that. It was very nurturing."' she stated in an interview in 1999. First, after leaving high school, the now 27-year old grown woman, attended UCLA majoring in drama and acting. '"In retrospect, I think [acting] was definitely my calling. I had no idea I was going to be an actress when I was real young. I had no intention of getting into that."' So Marley tried out for and got a part in the film "Grand Canyon." Then, she wooed young boys everywhere in "The Sandlot" where she played the attractive lifeguard and also took the role of Trisha Nixon in Oliver Stone's "Nixon." She was just 21 at the time of "Nixon". She also played Jaime in the 1994 tv-film "A Friend To Die For" with Tori Spelling and Kellie Martin. Then she was in a cable movie "Secret Between Friends" about anorexia in which she played anorexic teen Jennifer. But, of all films, her big break came in 1997 with "Trojan War" in which she co-starred with the very popular young actress Jennifer Love Hewitt and also Will Friedle from Boy Meets World. Then came her biggest hit. She got a role in 1998's hit movie " Pleasantville. " She played the girl from the 1950's who falls in love with Tobey Maguire despite his sister's (Reese Witherspoon) objections. From that point forward Marley became a household name as she had a string of huge hits in her middle twenties. The list includes "Never Been Kissed" where she played a popular girl student in a high school and hanged out with Leelee Sobieski. Jessica Alba, Drew Barrymore and David Arquette were in it too. Then came "The Bachelor" with Chris O'Donnell and Renée Zellweger.
Then she became infamous as her first lead role came as a sex-crazed slutty teen who has an affair with her teacher, Dennis Hopper, in "Lured Innocence." She continued to set the pace with both " On the Borderline" and "Sugar and Spice." In the latter she played a sex-crazed teen who is a cheerleader, but gets pregnant with the wrong guy. In "On the Borderline" she run away from home with her low-life husband to a Texas town where he commits crimes and smuggles in Mexicans across the border. At least she came back to comedy with the unappreciated "Bubble Boy." Then came horror film "Valentine." Now Marley is working on "Just A Kiss" and "Jesus, Mary and Joey." with some familar actors like Marisa Tomei, Stacy Keach, and Jennifer Esposito. Her carrer has shifted to more serious role, but she does want to do more comedy like the "Bubble Boy." or "Never Been Kissed." In 2002 she married after dating for ten and half months producer Beau Flynn.
